Troop 354 was founded in 1966 and has been proudly serving the West Michigan community for over half a century. Our troop is dedicated to shaping young men into responsible citizens and leaders through the values of the Scout Oath and Law. We emphasize outdoor adventures, skill development, and community service to help Scouts grow in character, confidence, and ability. With a strong focus on leadership and teamwork, Troop 354 provides opportunities for Scouts to take on meaningful responsibilities, achieve personal goals, and forge lasting friendships. From campouts and service projects to high-adventure trips and rank advancement, we are committed to creating memorable experiences that prepare Scouts for life.
Why join Troop 354?
Leadership & Personal Growth
At Troop 354, we focus on helping Scouts build essential life skills. Through hands-on learning, leadership roles, and exciting challenges, Scouts have the opportunity to grow in confidence, responsibility, and teamwork.
Youth work in Patrols, or small groups, that work together to complete tasks in meetings and that eat/stick together on campouts. Patrols elect a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader to guide them through Scouting’s structure.
Together, the youth elect a Senior Patrol leader* who presides over all meetings and events. There are many opportunities for youth to demonstrate their knowledge and potential by taking on various leadership positions, all with different responsibilities and functions.
*Our current Senior Patrol Leader is: Brooks H.
Adult leaders are typically split into two groups:
- The Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster(s) guide and work directly with the youth in meetings and program activites
- The Troop Committee sets troop policies and handles administrative functions, working behind-the-scenes

Outdoor Adventures
From camping trips to hiking expeditions, we offer numerous outdoor activities that foster a love for nature, build resilience, and encourage teamwork. Our Scouts learn vital outdoor survival skills, all while enjoying Michigan’s beautiful landscapes.
Our troop partakes in at least one (1) week-long campout every summer at a Michigan Crossroads Council-sponsered camp. Click here to explore some more!
Community Engagement
Troop 354 is not just about Scouting—it’s about giving back to our community. Scouts regularly participate in service projects that make a positive impact in our community. Some of our partnerships include:
